Private Morocco Desert Tour From Marrakech

DAY 1 | Marrakech - Zagora

Depart your 4 days Morocco desert tour from Marrakech at your  hotel or riad early in the morning ( 08h00 AM ) winding up through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing one Berber village after another to the UNESCO world heritage Kasbah of Ait Beh Haddou.
After a guided walk in the village and visiting the Kasbah which is a famous spot for filming movies , and photo shoots in Morocco, we continue to Ouarzazate for lunch.
Early in the afternoon, we will keep driving south east to the oasis of Agdez, where the amazing scenery of Draa River will start. From here, the landscape will dramatically change from arid rocky fields to lush green oases dotted with hundreds of thousands of palm trees, as well fortified villages.
Upon arrival at Zagora, which is one of the largest oases of Morocco, and the last main town in the south east part of Morocco, we check into our traditional guest house.
Dinner and overnight at your Zagora guest house.

DAY 2 | Zagora - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will cross the volcanics peaks of the Anti Atlas Mountains while we drive north east in the middle of no where . We might encounter local nomads herding their camels before we reach the oasis of Alnif, where we will stop for lunch.
Early in the afternoon, we carry on to Merzouga, past the holy town of Rissani, which is the birth place of the Alaouites dynasty who are ruling Morocco since early 17th century.
Upon arrival at Merzouga, we meet our camel caravan for a ride into Erg Chebbi sand dunes while watching the most spectacular sunset scene ever, before we reach our Sahara desert camp nestled in the middle of the sand dunes.
Dinner tonight will be served under the stars by the local nomads before you join them for a drumming party around the camp fire.

DAY 3 | Merzouga - Boumalne Dades

If you wish, your Sahara desert camp hosts will wake you up early in the morning to watch the sunrise, and enjoy the silence of the Sahara desert.
After breakfast, meet your driver and start your journey with a drive to Tinghir oasis, where you will enjoy an hour walk by Todgha river bank under the shade of the palm and olive trees, while watching the local Berbers taking care of thier land blocks used for self sufficient agriculture.
The walking tour will end at the majestic Todgha Canyons where we will have a Berber Tagine for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will continue via theroad of 1001 Kasbahs to Boumalne Dades.. From here we will drive along same amazing Kasbahs and fortified villages with the sunset as a bcak drop.
Dinner and overnight at a local guest house with an amazing cosy setting.
 

DAY 4 | Boumalne Dades - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will drive south west along the road of the roses. This region is famous for its Damascus roses plantation. If your tour coinsides with the spring season, don’t forget to open your car windows for an amazing roses sent along the river. The local ladies harvest the roses between March and June and use the petals to make rose water , soap, and perfume. We will have the opportunity to visit a local traditional rose water distilling unit to learn about the process ( In spring season only )
Later in the morning, we reach the amazing oasis of Skoura, where we will visit the Kasbah museum of Amridil. This is the best place to learn abouth the architecture of the fortified desert villages and Kasbahs, the life style of the Berbers living in the oases,, as well as the irrigation systems used in the area.
After this instructive stop, we will continue to Ouarzazate, where will stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we continue to Marrakech crossing thr High Atlas Mountains.
We should reach the red city of Marrakech late in the afternoon. Your 4 days Morocco desert tour from Marrakech will end at your hotel, Riad or a location of your choice in Marrakech.
